At its core, adherence is a deeply human problem. We know following through with a treatment plan improves our health, but in the moment, taking that immediate next step isn't always easy. The root causes are complex—ranging from forgetfulness and fear of side effects to a lack of visible benefits and high costs. Yet, despite billions of dollars invested in digital health tools, smart devices, and patient support programs, the core statistic remains stubbornly unchanged: roughly 50% of patients still fail to take chronic medications as prescribed over the long term. With rapid shifts in consumer behavior and technology, healthcare companies have unprecedented opportunities to engage with patients.

Join Smart Design as we bring together experts from across the industry to explore how we can apply new technology to the messiness of everyday life and the healthcare system to drive real, lasting health outcomes.
